Duchess By Night

May 2008 Creative Contest

Get your creative juices going and win!

If you read the tantalizing scene from Duchess by Night that was just posted, you know that Harriet attends a costume ball dressed as Mother Goose. Put your rhyming costume on and give Eloisa your best effort at a nursery rhyme! Your rhyme must include a duchess and a costume.

We're not looking for Shakespeare, so don't be afraid!  Here's Eloisa's poetic effort, based on the Mother Goose rhyme, "A dillar, A dollar":

A diller, a dollar, a duchess gives a hollar!
What are you doing at a ball in green satin?
You used to wear nought but red silk and black pattens,
And now your green skirts look fit for Manhattan!

As you can see, our standards are low *g*.  Here's a tip: a rhyming dictionary will help.

Note: This contest will run through May 31, 2008
